Description

Kaiser Permanente San Marcos Medical Center is a 182-bed hospital and central utility plant (CUP) that spans 433,231 sq. ft. across a basement and seven above-ground levels, including three floors of patient rooms, PACU, ED, 12 LDRP suites, and 10 ORs on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The electrical infrastructure features 15kV normal and emergency power substations from the CUP and scope including temp power, metering, equipment hook-ups, DC lighting, controls, J-hook pathways, and wall-mounted cable trays for KPIT and low-voltage systems. MMC provided budgeting, pre-construction, 3D LOD 400 BIM with clash detection, construction, testing, commissioning, and warranty. We also offered design assistance equivalent to full Design-Build, helping resolve cost, layout, clearance, and inspection issues to ensure a complete, budget-aligned design.
