VDC/BIM Engineer 

Cherry City Electric is accepting applications for a full-time VDC/BIM Engineer.  The VDC/BIM Engineer will work in a team-oriented environment designing and drafting a 3D model of the electrical systems for coordination and electrical installation drawings for various types of construction projects.   

Responsibilities:

  • Perform coordination, detailing and modeling for the following electrical installations:
  • Underground Duct Bank Routing
  • Electrical Room Layouts
  • Overhead Conduit Routing
  • Seismic Bracing Installations
  • IT Data Room Layouts
  • Light Fixture layouts
  • Concrete Slab Embeds, Sleeves and Blockouts
  • In-Wall Device Layouts
  • Trimble Layouts
  • Use of BIM for Prefab
  • RCP (including Light Fixture Layouts, Fire Alarm, Nurse Call and Security)

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Oregon Building Codes and NEC
  • A good attitude and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Dependability
  • Customer focused
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Field experience (not required, but added benefit)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit MEP, Navis & AutoCAD; overall proficiency/comfortability with computers and technology
