Details
Description
The Orange County Groundwater Replenishment System (GWR) is a state-of-the-art facility designed to reuse 140,000 acre-feet of treated wastewater annually. It features advanced water treatment, pumping stations, a pipeline connecting the treatment plant to recharge basins, and an expanded seawater intrusion barrier. The system uses filtration, reverse osmosis, UV treatment, and post-treatment conditioning to produce potable water for aquifer injection. The electrical installation included medium voltage distribution, VFDs, pumps, and low-voltage systems for various treatment buildings. A redundant fiber optic network was installed across a 20-mile conveyance pipeline to Anaheim. Morrow Meadows received the 2007 NECA Electrical Excellence Award for their work on the project.
